Job summary

Cavalier Logistics is seeking a full-time Customs Entry Writer to join our import team. The role processes documentation required by US Customs and Border Protection for entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers and requires industry experience.

Responsibilities include providing customer service, auditing brokerage files, maintaining compliance documents, processing via the ABI system, coordinating delivery and invoicing, and liaising with overseas and domestic agents to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of experience in customs brokerage or a related field.
• Familiarity with US CBP documentation and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide impeccable customer service
• Perform audit review on all assigned brokerage files and payments to customs
• Maintain and keep current all customs compliance documentation
• Process documents through the ABI system, obtaining releases as appropriate; arrange delivery and invoicing
• Review and monitor all Customs rejections and requests for information to clients and government agencies
• Daily correspondence with overseas and domestic agents, airlines, steamship lines, and co-loaders
• Work with other departments to deliver high level of service
• Report issues to customers and management in writing or verbally
• Ensure files contain all necessary document copies
• Pass background check
