Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in freight forwarding or logistics.

• Strong knowledge of international shipping documentation and processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Air and/or Ocean import shipments from origin to delivery.
• Manage shipment documentation including invoices, B/Ls, and arrival notices.
• Track shipments and provide customers with updates.
• Coordinate with carriers, overseas agents, customs brokers, and trucking providers.
• Enter and maintain shipment information in CargoWise.
• Monitor milestones and resolve delays or issues.
• Ensure documentation complies with regulations.
• Communicate with customers and internal teams regarding status.
• Assist with billing and shipment close-out.
• Maintain accurate records and high level of service.

A leading global freight forwarding business is looking to add an experienced Import Coordinator to its growing team in Erlanger, KY.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in international freight forwarding, particularly across Air and/or Ocean Imports, who is looking to join an established operation with long-term progression opportunities.

The Role

As an Import Coordinator, you will manage the day-to-day coordination of international import shipments, working closely with customers, overseas offices, carriers, customs brokers and internal teams to ensure shipments move efficiently and on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate Air and/or Ocean import shipments from origin through final delivery
• Manage shipment documentation, including commercial invoices, bills of lading and arrival notices
• Track shipments and provide customers with regular updates
• Coordinate with carriers, overseas agents, customs brokers and trucking providers
• Enter and maintain accurate shipment information within CargoWise
• Monitor shipment milestones and proactively resolve delays or issues
• Ensure import documentation and processes comply with relevant regulations
• Communicate with customers and internal stakeholders regarding shipment status
• Assist with billing, invoicing and shipment close-out
• Maintain accurate records and ensure a high level of customer service
