Job summary

Potpourri Group Inc. is seeking an Import Compliance Manager to join the Merchandising team. The role focuses on daily import compliance activities to ensure prompt delivery while negotiating contracts and maintaining inventories.

Responsibilities include HTS classification, ACE navigation, audits, and coordination with brokers and freight carriers. The candidate will review docs, manage U.S. regulatory filings, and support purchasing with ship dates and MOQs.

Qualifications

Expert HTS/CROSS knowledge is required.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Minimum 5 years of import/compliance experience.
Proficiency with Excel, Outlook, Word and Access.

Responsibilities

Classify products using HTS; understand the harmonized tariff schedule.
Navigate ACE and perform 7501 audits for accuracy.
Manage import compliance with U.S. agencies (U.S. F&W, FDA, EPA, CPSC, FCC, USDA).
Assist import brokers and freight carriers with shipment coordination.
Review and distribute documentation; coordinate customs exams.
Coordinate purchasing/negotiation of ship dates and MOQs with Buying Staff.
Distribute purchase orders and issue chargebacks for non-compliance.
Expedite documents and purchase orders; file related records.
Maintain track/trace systems and reporting dashboards.
