Job summary

Seaboard Marine Miami is hiring for an Import Specialist to manage efficient shipment import processes, including ISF, entry processing, and government agency resolutions. You will ensure documentation compliance and provide client-facing service from start to finish, upholding regulatory standards.

The role demands strong knowledge of U.S. Customs, classification, valuation, and experience with high-volume import transactions; bilingual English/Spanish preferred and weekend availability may be

Qualifications

• Three years of entry writing and/or brokerage operation experience.
• Thorough knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations.
• Thorough knowledge of the HTSUS
• Knowledge of FDA/OGA process.
• In-depth understanding of U.S. import process.
• Intermediate Computer skills (MS Word, Excel & Outlook, ABI).
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Ability to work for extended hours and on weekends.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and deliver a high level of customer service.
• Detail-oriented, organized and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Classify import items and notify Customs to determine appropriate import duties.
• Train and advise team members on Customs regulations, classification and valuation.
• Maintain expertise in US Customs regulations and clearance processes; review trade publications.
• Maintain and keep current all customs compliance documentation for audits and retention.
• Receive, review, and process high-volume import transactions and entries; classify and value goods.
• Process documents through ABI system and arrange invoicing for services rendered.
• Review and monitor all Customs rejections and requests for information; communicate with clients.
• Adhere to all shipping regulations; communicate status to clients.
• Provide timely customer service under supervision; escalate as needed.
• Assist with procedures for each account; assist with documentation for Customs packets.
