Job summary

Strive - GTM Talent Partner is recruiting two Implementation & Integration Engineers to join a fast-growing Chicago team. The role focuses on ownership of complex integrations, API work, and customer-facing problem solving in a SaaS environment.

This position requires 4 days per week in the Chicago office and travel to customer sites as needed. The candidate will work across REST APIs, JSON/XML, Python and/or PHP, and leverage AI coding tools to diagnose issues and deliver practical solutions.

Qualifications

• 2–4+ years of technical implementation or integrations experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with REST APIs and API testing.
• Proficient in Python and/or PHP with ability to read and edit code.
• Experience with JSON/XML and databases (MySQL or similar).

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end onboarding and implementation projects.
• Map customer workflows to technical solutions across ERPs and third‑party tools.
• Work hands-on with REST APIs and integration documentation.
• Troubleshoot API, integration and data issues.

platform used by tens of thousands of businesses worldwide.

The platform helps e-commerce businesses manage and automate complex operations across

areas such as order management, inventory, marketplaces, shipping, integrations and workflow

automation.

As the company continues to expand across the US, they are looking to hire two Implementation

& Integration Engineers to join their growing Chicago team.

About the Role

This is not a traditional Implementation Specialist or project coordination position.

We’re looking for a highly technical, customer-facing problem solver who can take ownership of

complex implementations from initial discovery through to launch.

You’ll work directly with customers to understand their existing technology stack and business

processes, configure integrations, troubleshoot technical issues and find practical solutions to

problems as they arise.

Think of the position as sitting somewhere between an Implementation Engineer, Integration

Engineer, Solutions Engineer and Forward Deployed Engineer.

You don't need to be a traditional software engineer building applications from scratch. Instead,

you’ll need enough technical depth to work confidently with APIs, data and code, using modern

AI coding tools to help diagnose problems and develop solutions quickly.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Own end-to-end technical onboarding and implementation projects
• Work directly with customers to understand their existing workflows, systems and technical environment
• Map customer requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions ERPs and third-party tools
• Work hands‑on with REST APIs and integration documentation
• Troubleshoot API, integration and data issues
• Work with JSON/XML and databases to investigate and validate data
• Understand, edit and debug code using Python and/or PHP
• Leverage AI coding tools to accelerate troubleshooting and solve technical problems
• Identify and resolve issues independently rather than relying on a separate engineering team
• Conduct customer training and technical sessions remotely and on-site
• Manage multiple customer implementations simultaneously
• Document customer configurations and completed implementations
• Travel to customers when required

What We’re Looking For

• 2–4+ years of experience in technical implementation, integrations, solutions engineering, e-commerce development or a similar technical customer‑facing role
• Strong hands‑on experience working with REST APIs
• Ability to read API documentation, test endpoints and troubleshoot integrations
• Experience working with JSON/XML
• Working knowledge of Python and/or PHP
• Ability to understand, edit and debug existing code
• Experience using AI tools to support coding and technical problem solvingFamiliarity with MySQL or similar databases
• Strong problem-solving skills and technical curiosity
• Confidence working directly with customers and non‑technical stakeholders
• A proactive, self‑starter mentality with the ability to operate in an ambiguous, fast‑moving environment
• Comfortable working from the Chicago office 4 days per week
• Willingness to travel when required
