City of Indianapolis is seeking an IMPD HR Specialist to provide professional support across HR disciplines, including records maintenance, regulatory reporting, and leave/medical liaison administration. The role may rotate through various HR functions to broaden impact and support HR project initiatives.
The successful candidate will have an associate degree in a related field, 3 years of HR experience, and strong knowledge of HR laws, data systems, and recruitment processes.
The position of IMPD Human Resources Specialist functional provides support to the organization through specialist knowledge, skills, and experience. The position provides support and participates in projects across a variety of human resources disciplines. The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for performing tasks for IMPD related to maintenance of employee records and filing systems, regulatory reporting, assisting in selection processes (new hire and promotional), and primarily assisting in the administration of leave of absence and medical liaison programs. While this role may have a primary area of responsibility initially, the incumbent may rotate through a variety of human resources functions and responsibilities to assist in the Human Resources Specialist professional development and broaden the scope of their impact.

Associate degree in Business, Organizational Development, or Human Resources or related field and three (3) years of relevant work experience are required (e.g., Human Resources, Business, or Finance, etc.) One (1) year of related work experience may be substituted for each year of required education.
