Job summary

Friends of the Children in the United States seeks dedicated mentors, known as Friends, to support youth facing challenges. Each mentor will build a relationship with eight children, teaching life skills and providing support both in and outside school settings. Ideal candidates have a bachelor's or associate's degree, along with experience working with youth. Friends of the Children offers a hybrid work environment with a generous benefits package including health, retirement, and professional development. COVID-19 vaccination required.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years' experience working with youth in social services.
• Mentoring experience with families impacted by child welfare system.
• Ability to develop empathy toward different backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain relationships with eight children.
• Teach life skills and promote positive self-esteem.
• Complete documentation and evaluations on activities.
