Job summary

Metropolitan Ministries in Tampa seeks an Employment/Vocational Training Coordinator to provide educational support for clients pursuing professional credentials and job training.

You will assess education, work history, and career goals; mentor clients, coordinate with local programs, and deliver workshops. Strong communication and organizational skills are required; a BA in a related field and experience in education or case management are preferred.

Qualifications

• BA in Human Services, Counseling, Social Work, Education, or related field.
• 1–3 years as educator, case manager, advocate, mentor, or re-entry specialist.
• Knowledge of homeless issues and Florida education context is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess education, work history, skills, and career goals for clients.
• Meet regularly to mentor, tutor, and monitor progress; update plans.
• Research programs that fit client goals and assist with applications.
• Plan and deliver community education/employment workshops.
• Coordinate with staff to support tuition, materials, and transportation.
• Advocate for client education plans and assist with FAFSA/FERPA as needed.
