Job summary

SER Metro-Detroit is seeking an Education and Vocation Coordinator to lead the educational and vocational components of the YouthBuild program. The role provides supervision and operational oversight, working with program leadership to ensure quality service delivery, compliance, and achievement of performance outcomes.

The coordinator supports staff development and cultivates partnerships to expand career pathways.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
Teacher certification and experience in vocational or Career Technical Education are necessary.
Ability to work in an enthusiastic and encouraging way with young people facing barriers.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

Oversee healthcare, GED, Foundational Skills, leadership readiness, and vocational training activities.
Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision, coaching, and performance management for staff.
Coordinate participant recruitment, eligibility, onboarding, orientation, and Week activities.
Monitor attendance, academic progress, credential attainment, and employment outcomes.
Ensure program objectives and contractual deliverables are achieved.
Develop partnerships to expand career pathways and apprenticeship opportunities.
Coordinate externships, clinical placements, and job shadowing.
