Job summary

The Salvation Army Midtown Services and Treatment Center in Missouri is seeking a full-time Treatment Support Specialist to monitor all activities within the Substance Abuse Program, including Detox, Residential, and Outpatient Treatment Programs, and to perform duties as an Associate Substance Abuse Counselor to maintain a safe therapeutic environment.

The role requires a high school diploma, relevant experience, confidentiality, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; one year of work experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
• Teamwork and independent work capabilities are important.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client evaluation interviews and assess treatment needs.
• Perform breathalyzer and urinalysis testing.
• Orient clients on admission and explain program options.
• Process financial screenings and admit clients per policy.
• Answer phones, screen, and place on waitlists or refer to Intake.
• Counsel detox clients on treatment options and refer to MAT as needed.
• Lead group counseling sessions for Residential and Outpatient Services.
• Coordinate with ACS/Counselor on eligible MAT referrals.
