The Salvation Army Midtown Services and Treatment Center is looking for a full-time Treatment Support Specialist. This individual will monitor all activities associated with the Substance Abuse Program including Detox, Residential, and Outpatient Treatment Programs. This position will also perform the duties of an Associate Substance Abuse Counselor and related duties to maintain a safe, clean, and healthy therapeutic environment, assisting clients with achieving their therapeutic goals.

High school diploma or equivalent and one-year work experience. Must be a team player, a self-starter, and perform well with minimal supervision. Must think independently and demonstrate sound judgment. Must be supportive of The Salvation Army’s mission and policies. The position requires a high level of confidentiality. Good communication skills as well as the ability to work with diverse and challenging personalities are essential.

Hepatitis A vaccine documentation required by the City of St. Louis Health Department. Annual TB test. Current CPR certificate. Serv-Safe Certification. Missouri Associate Alcohol Drug Counselor Certification (for all daytime staff performing groups).
Must be capable of performing the above essential duties in an office environment to include using a computer, answering phones, etc. Occasionally lifts 20 pounds and sometimes up to 40 pounds. Most work will be indoors in a temperature control environment.
