The Salvation Army Midtown Service and Treatment Center is seeking a part-time Treatment Support Specialist to monitor Detox, Residential, and Outpatient programs and assist clients in achieving therapeutic goals.

This 24 hours/week position offers a starting wage of $15.00 per hour. Responsibilities include client evaluation, screenings, counseling support, and coordinating with intake to maintain a safe, confidential therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client evaluation interviews, assess treatment type, and develop initial treatment plans.
• Perform breathalyzer and urinalysis tests.
• Conduct routine search and seizure procedures.
• Orient clients on admission into the program.
• Conduct financial screenings and accept clients per policy.
• Answer phones, screen referrals, and refer to the Intake Coordinator.
• Counsel detox clients about treatment options and refer to other agencies as needed.
• Refer eligible clients to Medication Assisted Treatment in consultation with ACS/Counselor.
• Lead group counseling activities in Residential or Outpatient settings.
• Lead group education sessions for Residential, Outpatient, and Family Support.

The Salvation Army Midtown Service and Treatment Center is looking for a part-time Treatment Support Specialist. This individual will monitor all activities associated with the Substance Abuse Program including Detox, Residential, and Outpatient Treatment Programs. They will also perform duties of an Associate Substance Abuse Counselor and related duties to maintain a safe, clean, and healthy therapeutic environment, assisting clients with achieving their therapeutic goals.

This is a part-time, 24 hours per week position, with a starting wage of $15.00 per hour. The Salvation Army Midtown Service and Treatment Center.

Essential Functions

• Conduct client evaluation interviews, assess type of treatment required, develop treatment plan; include screenings and intakes when admitted into treatment.
• Perform clients’ breathalyzer and urinalysis.
• Conduct routine search and seizure procedures.
• Orient clients upon admission into the program.
• Conduct financial screenings and accept clients according to the program policy guidelines.
• Answer phones and conduct screening and place on waitlist or refer to Intake Coordinator.
• Counsel detox clients about treatment options in the program; refer to other agencies, as needed.

• Conduct group counseling activities; Residential or Outpatient Treatment Services per ACS.

Hepatitis A vaccine documentation required by the City of St. Louis Health Department. Annual TB test. Current CPR certificate. Serv-Safe Certification. Missouri Associate Alcohol Drug Counselor Certification (for all daytime staff performing groups).

Physical And Work Environment Requirements

Must be capable of performing the above essential duties in an office environment to include using a computer, answer phones, etc. Occasionally lifts 20 pounds and sometimes up to 40 pounds. Most work will be indoors in a temperature control environment.
