Job summary

Health & Human Services Comm in Austin is seeking a Training and Development Specialist to lead competency-based training for staff at the Austin State Supported Living Center. You will design, deliver, and evaluate programs including New Hire Orientation and refresher courses.

You will maintain training records, develop curriculum materials, and support safety and trauma-informed care training. A background in adult education and strong communication with diverse learners is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university is preferred.
• Experience providing training to adults in residential settings or similar environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or overtime.
• Plans, organizes, and conducts training classes in group settings or computer labs to ensure trainees' competency.
• Maintains accurate training records and attendance for all classes and reporting systems.
• Assists with curriculum materials development and multimedia presentations for training.
• Performs other duties as assigned to ensure services are provided and safety is maintained.
