Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services is seeking a Training and Development Specialist to plan, deliver, and evaluate competency-based instruction for the agency’s staff. The role emphasizes curriculum development, instructional design, and mastery training across multiple facilities.

The position focuses on creating engaging training experiences, maintaining thorough records, and ensuring safety and infection control while supporting a broad range of professional development activities.

Qualifications

• Ability to plan and conduct training classes in group or lab settings.
• Ability to customize standardized training for relevant facility environments.
• Ability to maintain training records and report training status.

Responsibilities

• Attends work regularly and may rotate schedules.
• Plans and conducts training classes including New Hire Orientation and continuing education.
• Evaluates trainee competency and maintains records of attendance and progress.
• Helps develop curriculum materials and multimedia presentations.
• Maintains safety and infection control practices in training sessions.
• Acts as Master Trainer and supports other trainers as needed.
• Participates in facility meetings and reports training statistics.
