Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Surgical Technology program or equivalent military training.
• Certified or eligible for certification; certification obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in transportation of patients to and from the surgical services departments.
• Serve as first assistant when within scope of practice and competency.
• Prepare supplies and equipment for procedures; maintain sterile technique.
• Count instruments, sharps, and sponges; ensure correct specimen handling.
• Prepare instruments for sterilization; decontaminate and disinfect as required.
• Maintain unit cleanliness and turnover efficiency; support equipment readiness.
• Communicate effectively to support patient safety and privacy.
