Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments and equipment.
• Ensure all surgical instruments are sterile and organized for quick access.
• Assist the surgical team by passing instruments and supplies during procedures.
• Monitor a sterile field throughout the surgery to prevent infection.
• Count sponges and instruments before and after surgery to ensure no foreign objects are left.

Skills

Knowledge of aseptic techniques and sterilization methods

Strong understanding of surgical instruments, procedures, and safety protocols

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Ability to stay calm under pressure and make quick decisions during emergencies

Education

Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology program
