Job summary

Mercy Health in Fairfield is seeking a Surgical Technologist II to assist surgeons and nurses in preparing aseptic operating room environments for procedures. Duties include assembling supplies, maintaining asepsis, and supporting the surgical team throughout operations.

Minimum qualifications include an Associate degree or equivalent in Surgical Technology and one year of experience. BLS certification and CST/NBSTA/TS-C/NCCT credentials are required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree, vocational certification, or military certificate in surgical technology (required).
• One year of experience as a Surgical Technologist (required).
• BLS – American Heart Association and CST/ NBSTA/ TS-C/ NCCT certifications (required).

Responsibilities

• Assemble supplies and equipment required for operative and invasive procedures.
• Provide supplies to the surgical team during procedures and maintain aseptic technique.
• Report implanted devices, catheters, drains, and packing to the circulator.
• Prepare and perform surgical skin prep as indicated by procedure.
• Assist with pre- and post-procedure cleaning of the operating room.
• Demonstrate understanding of Advance Directives.
• Demonstrate knowledge of equipment, MIS, laparoscopy, and robotics.
