Job summary

Kennedale Independent School District seeks a Substitute Teacher to maintain classroom instruction in the absence of the regular teacher. You will follow prepared lessons, manage student behavior, and support a positive learning environment on campus.

Starting date: To Be Determined. Compensation ranges from $80 to $130 per full day, with roles requiring a High School Diploma and completion of the district substitute orientation.

Qualifications

• Education/Certification: High School Diploma.
• Completion of the Kennedale ISD application process, including substitute orientation.
• Interpersonal skills to work well with children, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Report to the campus office upon arriving at the school.
• Follow lessons and duties developed by the classroom teacher and present in a manner that students understand.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.
• Establish and maintain control in the classroom and administer discipline in accordance with board policies, administrative regulations, campus policies and rules.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
• Maintain a cooperative, professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents and community members.
• Use acceptable communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
• Spend the entire assignment working with and for the students.
• No personal work of any kind should be done.
• Accept jobs and perform effectively on a consistent basis.
• Maintain prompt and regular attendance for each substitute assignment.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Demonstrates ethical behavior.
• Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
