Job summary

Advocate Health Care seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, voice, cognitive and swallowing disorders. You will develop written plans of care, implement therapy, and monitor outcomes in collaboration with physicians and the care team.

The role requires a Master’s in Speech Pathology, CCC-SLP, and state licensure (BLS may be required). No prior experience is required; ongoing professional growth is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited program.
• CCC-SLP certification required by ASHA.
• State licensure in at least one practicing state prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Interprets physician referrals and conducts speech and language evaluations for patients with speech, language, voice, cognitive and swallowing disorders.
• Establishes a written plan of care and implements individual treatment, monitoring outcomes and adjusting plans as needed.
• Coordinates discharge planning, home programs, and family/patient education; communicates with care team and documentation per policy.
• Completes required documentation, billing, scheduling, and adherence to site productivity standards and policies.
• Maintains patient safety and follows infection control and safety measures in all settings.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and contributes to department goals and staff development.
• Supervises non-licensed staff as needed and supports student education programs.
