Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, voice, cognitive and swallowing disorders.

You will develop written care plans, implement customized therapy, monitor progress, and discharge patients with home programs while coordinating with physicians and the care team.

Required: Master’s degree in Speech Pathology, state licensure or eligibility, and BLS; strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited program.
• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist (or eligible).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Interprets referrals and evaluates speech, language, voice, cognitive and swallowing disorders.
• Develops written care plans and implements treatment plans.
• Monitors progress and adjusts plans; reports to physicians and teammates.
• Plans discharge including home programs and patient teaching.
• Completes documentation per policy; billing and scheduling.
• Maintains safety and infection control; promotes patient safety.
