Job summary

Paraprofessional, Special Education (Sped) - Significant Support (LIFE/SSN) at Grand Mesa Middle School, District 51, is a non-exempt role supporting students with disabilities under licensed staff. You will assist with IEPs, behavior support, data collection, personal care, and small-group instruction to promote growth and independence.

The position runs on a 177-day school year (7 hours per day) with a pay range of $19.68 to $21.96 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree or 48 college hours or WorkKeys score required for Title I schools.
• Two years of experience working with children preferred.
• Experience with students with disabilities preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills required when assigned to bilingual program.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of teacher-designed instruction in individual, small-group, and classroom settings.
• Assist with IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications under licensed staff.
• Adapt instructional materials to meet diverse learning and sensory needs.
• Support behavior intervention plans and crisis plans under licensed supervision.
• Monitor student behavior and social-emotional needs across settings.
• Assist with personal care needs and health plans as directed by staff.
• Collect and record data on IEP goals and student progress.
• Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, and transitions.
• Participate in team meetings and required professional development.
