Job summary

Teton County School District #1 in Jackson, WY is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support teachers in implementing programs for students with disabilities. You will assist in inclusion classrooms and specialized programs, aiding both academics and social/emotional development.

The role requires an Associate's degree (Bachelor's preferred), Spanish skills, and the ability to obtain a substitute permit within two months. 180 days, 8 hours daily, $33.55/hour DOE.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Spanish skills preferred.
• A combination of education and experience that prepares applicant for this position.
• Must obtain CPI certification within first two months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students or small groups under the direction of the special or general education teacher.
• Use effective instructional and classroom management strategies to engage students with disabilities in their general education classroom activities.
• Assist with progress monitoring tasks and other record keeping duties as assigned.
• Assist teacher and staff with lifting and moving of children with physical disabilities as appropriate.
• Assist with students in accessing the general education curriculum and program.
• Assist teachers in providing accommodations and/or modifications as specified in each student's IEP.
