Job summary

Amergis is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide services to K-12 students in a school setting. The role requires collaboration with the Special Education Program Administrator and planning for student programs, including instruction, tutoring, and consultation with general education staff.

The position is contract-based, full-time, with competitive compensation and weekly paychecks. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree, state teaching certification, and relevant endorsements; CPR

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state regulations
• Minimum of one year teaching experience (preferred)
• State Teacher Certification; Elementary Teaching preferred
• State Teacher Certification; Secondary Teaching preferred
• State Teacher Certification; Special Teaching preferred
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate per contract or state regulation
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Special Education Teacher provides services to special education students, K-12
• Works under direction of the Special Education Program Administrator
• Participates in planning and implementation of student programs
• Includes special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff
