Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) seeks licensed educators to deliver instruction aligned with the AKS curriculum and to foster a holistic development environment for students.

The role requires collaboration with administrators, colleagues, parents, and community while applying IDEIA and due process guidelines. Candidates should hold GCPS certification and a Bachelor's degree; teaching experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Georgia certification requirements in appropriate field of education required
• Bachelor's degree in applicable field of education from PSC-approved college or university required
• Previous teaching experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide learning experiences based on the district's AKS curriculum and foster development across intellect, physical, social, and emotional domains.
• Demonstrate command of the subject; provide direct or specially designed instruction for students in special programs per IEP.
• Consult with teachers/administrators to develop academic and behavioral management programs.
• Participate as active faculty, fulfilling school duties and duties.”
• Develop and prioritize instructional objectives aligned with AKS; prepare lesson plans and assessments.
• Evaluate, select, modify resources; ensure materials match learner needs and reflect research-based practices.
• Oversee assessments, communicate results to parents and teachers.
• Maintain and organize learning environment for optimal student engagement and transitions.
• Maintain student behavior conducive to learning; establish respectful, supportive classrooms.
• Assist with IDEIA-related processes and due process compliance.
• Participate in professional growth activities and apply new learning to planning and delivery.
