Walton County GA is seeking a paraprofessional to support instructional programs and supervise special needs students in assigned classrooms. The role includes assisting in implementing IEP plans, monitoring behavior, and providing information to school staff.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 60 college hours or passing GACE Paraprofessional test, and prior related experience preferred. This position involves non-exempt, school calendar duties and routine safety

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED Certificate required.
• 60 Semester hours of college credit from an accredited educational institution or a passing score on the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment required.
• Successful experience in job related area preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Implements under the supervision of assigned teacher, behavioral plans designed by IEP team for students with behavior disorders or other special conditions for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts.
• Administers immediate first aid and medical assistance as instructed by a health care professional (e.g. tube feeding, medication, etc.) for the purpose of meeting immediate health care needs.
• Administers classroom assignments, test, homework assignments, make-up work, etc. for the purpose of supporting teachers in the instructional process.
• Assists students, individual or in small groups, with lesson assignments (e.g. read stories, listen to students read, providing writing assistance, reinforce English lessons, provide spelling practice, facilitate activities, social skills, daily living skills, etc.) for the purpose of practicing and/or reinforcing learning concepts; implementing IEP plans; and ensuring students success in school.
• Monitors individual and/or groups of students in a variety of settings (e.g. classroom, playground, field trips, library, lunchroom, car and/or bus loading/unloading, etc.), and responds to emergency and non-emergency situations for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
• Maintains confidentiality of students and other professional information.
• Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
