Job summary

South Scioto Performance Academy (SSPA) is seeking a dedicated Intervention Specialist to support students with diverse learning needs and collaborate with families, teachers, and school leaders to foster student success and inclusive learning. The role involves creating IEPs, coordinating with related service providers, maintaining records, and delivering high-quality instruction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
• Valid and current SPED license appropriate for Ohio/State requirements.
• Satisfactory completion of federal and state background checks.
• Experience with data analysis and progress monitoring.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work in a diverse educational setting and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality service delivery to students with active IEPs, 504 Plans, and/or BIPs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support students with disabilities in the general education setting.
• Review IEPs, 504 Plans, and accommodations with classroom staff to ensure proper implementation.
• Determine testing accommodations and coordinate with relevant staff.
• Prepare and submit intervention logs and progress reports on deadlines.
• Develop IEPs, FBAs, BIPs, ETRs, and 504 Plans in accordance with guidelines.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress.
• Ensure compliance with state policies, district procedures, and timelines.
