Job summary

The Salvation Army Missoula Corps is seeking a Social Services Coordinator to administer a range of social services programs and supervise staff and volunteers, ensuring client needs are met with compassion and integrity.

You will handle inquiries, disburse financial and material assistance, coordinate with partner agencies, maintain records, and support hunger and employment programs while upholding the Salvation Army mission.

Qualifications

• College degree, AA or higher; high school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a non-profit setting or a social service-related field.
• Experience working with Missoula County or similar Social Service agencies; familiar with the Missoula Coordinated Entry System.
• Ability to communicate, interact and work with vulnerable and marginalized populations.
• Ability to understand and comply with The Salvation Army policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of community resources and ability to represent The Salvation Army throughout the community; maintain client confidentiality.
• Must have a valid Montana State Driver's license and pass TSA MVR check and in-house driving test.
• Must complete and adhere to Protecting the Mission requirements and guidelines, including TSA background checks.
• Basic computer knowledge: Excel, Word, PowerPoint; ability to navigate databases with basic training.
• Detail Oriented, Self-Starter, and Team Player.

Responsibilities

• Administer a variety of Social Services programs to meet the physical, social and spiritual needs of clients through direct client contact and supervision of staff and volunteers.
• Answer and respond to all telephone calls and emails.
• Interview, screen and schedule appointments for those seeking assistance.
• Prepare client files and maintain current and accurate computer files and records.
• Maintain funding records and complete monthly reports to DHQ and Accounting.
• Order and maintain food supplies and plan food distribution.
• Provide support to hygiene center, food program and employment program activities.
• Develop funding sources and write grants for program resources.
• Record, disburse and report in-kind donations.
