Job summary

Target is hiring a Security Specialist to support guest safety and loss prevention. You will greet guests, assist with finding items, and deter theft while maintaining a friendly store atmosphere.

You will document incidents, use security systems, and collaborate with team members to ensure a secure shopping environment. Role requires 18+, a high school diploma, and the ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist guests to create a friendly shopping experience.
• Help guests find items and resolve issues for a smooth experience.
• End every guest interaction with a sincere thanks.
• Support team and proactively assist peers when needed.
• Maintain a safe, secure store environment and document incidents.
• Use de-escalation tactics and Target video surveillance as directed.
• Conduct merchandise receipt checks and communicate trends to prevent loss.
