Job summary

Target is seeking a Security Specialist to protect guests, team members and assets in a fast-paced retail environment. You will monitor for security incidents, de-escalate situations, conduct theft recoveries and document cases using Target's case management system.

The role requires 18+ years, a high school diploma, ability to lift up to 40 pounds, and flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays. Training will cover safety policies, surveillance systems and crisis response.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet state/local licensure requirements where applicable.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
• Ability to operate handheld scanners and technology equipment as directed.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and assist with finding items or resolving issues to ensure a smooth shopping experience.
• Support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Promote a safe security culture and maintain standards including exterior areas.
• Respond to security incidents promptly and document them accurately.
• Use de-escalation techniques and security tools as needed.
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and assist with apprehensions per policy.
• Record incidents in the case management system following AP policies.
