Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a professional school counselor to join the educational leadership team. The role includes providing comprehensive counseling across academic, personal/social, and career domains to support student success.

The position requires a Master’s in school counseling and an Illinois PEL with a School Counseling Endorsement, with duties including program development, student planning, and collaboration with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in school counseling.
• Illinois State Board of Education Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Counseling Endorsement.
• Experience delivering comprehensive counseling programs.

Responsibilities

• Create, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with the CPS REACH Framework.
• Conduct annual needs assessments and data reviews to set school-wide goals.
• Deliver School Counseling Core Curriculum in classrooms and assemblies.
• Provide individual student planning through Naviance and advisement.
• Provide responsive services including small groups and family conferences.
• Coordinate planning, data collection, and professional development for staff.
• Participate in ongoing professional development.
