Job summary

Protouch Staffing in Harper Woods, MI is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to provide school-based OT services to K-12 students in a full-time, Monday–Friday schedule.

You will participate in IEP meetings, conduct evaluations, collaborate with teachers and families, and document progress while adhering to IDEA and state requirements.

Strong communication and organization are essential; Michigan licensure and NBCOT certification are required.

Qualifications

• Active Michigan OT license (LARA) or eligible for licensure.
• NBCOT certification required for Michigan licensure.
• Ability to complete a Michigan school fingerprint-based background check.
• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct OT evaluations and re-evaluations using standardized assessment tools.
• Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services.
• Participate in IEP meetings both in person and virtually.
• Communicate evaluation findings and recommendations with families and school staff.
• Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers.
• Develop and implement strategies that support student participation and learning in the classroom.
• Maintain accurate caseload records and documentation.
• Follow IDEA, Michigan special education requirements, and district guidelines.
• Monitor student progress and adjust therapy strategies as appropriate.
• Maintain professional communication with students, families, and school personnel.
