Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a School-Based Clinical Therapist to provide care coordination, outpatient therapy for students in school settings, and education to school personnel on behavioral health topics. The therapist will coordinate with schools to understand student needs, systems, and barriers to care, and may provide therapy to children/youth when appropriate.

The clinician assesses needs, supports families in obtaining services, and follows up to ensure services are received.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or related field eligible for mental health licensure.
• Associate-level license (LCSW, LMHC-A, LMFT-A) by time of hire.
• At least 2 years of clinical experience in school or mental health setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care coordination and outpatient individual therapy to students.
• Consult with schools to assess needs and connect families to services.
• Conduct suicide risk assessments and participate in threat assessment teams.
• Maintain documentation in medical records per standards and timelines.
• Collaborate with school personnel and community providers for coordinated care.
• Attend supervision and team meetings as scheduled.
