Job summary

Reading Corps, powered by AmeriCorps and administered by Ampact, seeks a Reading Tutor to help students become strong readers in a school setting. You'll deliver proven activities, coach students daily, and participate in ongoing training to improve tutoring outcomes.

You'll tutor pairs of students for 20 minutes, return them to class, and repeat with new pairs. This role emphasizes growth, encouragement, and community impact.

Qualifications

• Dependable with good attendance and reliability.
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email, online navigation).
• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• 18+ years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Citizen or eligible US resident; able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule for support.
• Track student progress and meet with onsite coach regularly.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter scores into data software.
• Commit to personal growth through coaching and training.
