Job summary

Children's Aid Society is seeking a Quality Improvement Specialist to advance continuous quality improvement, ensure compliance with federal, state, and city regulations, and support leadership with data-driven insights. The role focuses on data collection, analysis, visualization, and reporting to improve child welfare outcomes across multiple NYC sites.

The specialist will develop dashboards, review case documentation, and contribute to policy development while engaging stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work or related field required; Master's preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in ACS Child Welfare/Human Services setting with knowledge of ACS/OCFS policies preferred.
• Advanced skills in using Connections and PROMIS systems.
• Advanced skills in MS Excel and statistical analysis.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Self-motivated and able to manage projects within timelines.
• Flexibility to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate key performance indicators of performance and practice in child welfare.
• Support dashboard design in Excel or other programs to monitor compliance and practice.
• Develop internal policy and procedures to improve programmatic practice and operations.
• Analyze data from random reviews of case records to evaluate timeliness and quality of documentation and decision-making.
• Produce monthly and quarterly reports with performance data and program metrics.
• Collect and analyze data from surveys, focus groups, and client/employee feedback.
• Analyze data from audits and provide findings with trends and improvement areas.
• Support QA cycle efforts and collaboration with program staff on data collection and analysis.
• Visit and support ACS sites and programs as directed by leadership.
• Complete system reviews of high-risk cases and provide written findings.
