Job summary

Optum is hiring a Full Time Physical Therapist Assistant (Licensed PTA) to treat patients in their homes through Huntsville Hospital HomeCare, part of the Optum family. The role focuses on implementing therapy under supervision and promoting patient well-being across diverse home environments.

The PTA will provide exercise instruction, document progress, and collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize mobility and independence. Travel to patient homes in Alabama is required.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed to practice physical therapy in Alabama.
• Current driver’s license with reliable vehicle or access to transportation.
• CPR certification preferred or obtainable within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws and the supervising PT plan of care for home visits.
• Instruct patients in active and passive exercises, gait, ADL, and mobility training.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses; coordinate with the care team.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy within PTA scope.
• Adapt to home environments and diverse patient needs.
