• Performs comprehensive assessment of patients' nursing care needs (physical, behavioral, psychiatric, social).
• Observes, documents patient status in medical records and reports to the attending psychiatrist.
• Develops individualized recovery plan with the recovery team.
• Provides health teaching and coping strategies to patients/families.
• Uses counseling skills in therapeutic interactions to aid anxiety management.
• Implements population-specific nursing interventions and administers medications as ordered.
• Maintains MAR and controlled drug records according to policy.
• Trains staff in psychiatric nursing principles and milieu management.
