Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) in El Paso is seeking a Psychiatric Nursing Assistant II to support inpatient psychiatric care at El Paso Psychiatric Center. This part-time role works Regular Weekend Day shifts and offers opportunities to grow within a large state agency.

The PNA II provides supervised patient care, assists with daily living, monitors vitals, and participates in recovery plans and group activities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of patient care techniques and treatment programs.
• Knowledge of basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of effective interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Skills in taking vital signs.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.
• Ability to provide patient care and CPR.
• Ability to work with others and accept supervision.
• Ability to train and provide guidance to others.

Responsibilities

• Attends work on a regular basis and follows shift schedule.
• Implements recovery plans and provides ongoing support to patients.
• Assists with activities of daily living and accompanies patients to appointments.
• Communicates effectively with team members to promote a positive workplace.
• Participates in recovery team meetings and documents patient information.
• Monitors patients for medication administration and vital signs.
• Promotes safety and co-facilitates groups as assigned or requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned to ensure efficient operation.
