Job summary

Frederick County Public Schools is seeking a Long-Term Substitute, PreK Instructional Assistant at Glade Elementary School. The role supports teachers by working with small groups and individuals, preparing materials, and supervising activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 48 college credits or passing of ParaPro required for Title One Schools.
• Clear, concise communication in oral and written form.
• Working knowledge of English, spelling, vocabulary, and mathematics.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Willingness to participate in training/professional development.
• Capable of performing essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Support students individually or in small groups under teacher supervision.
• Check papers and monitor student progress.
• Assist with classroom duties, attendance, and materials preparation.
• Utilize computer programs to assist students.
• Substitute for teachers in emergency situations.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
