Job summary

Frederick County Public Schools is seeking a Long-Term Substitute, Special Education Instructional Assistant at Gov. Thomas Johnson High School. The role supports students with special needs under a licensed teacher's supervision, helps implement IEPs, and may provide personal care assistance as required.

Daily hours are 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with a wage of $17.13 per hour. The position requires reliable attendance, basic computer skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Title One schools may require 48 college credits or ParaPro.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, concisely in both oral and written form.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Drive applications.
• Capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Regular and predictable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Supports students under the direction of a Certificated FCPS staff.
• Communicates and documents student progress.
• Sets up and adapts materials, equipment, and assistive devices for use by student(s).
• Assists with administering, scoring, and recording assessments.
• Attends IEP team meetings and staff meetings as directed and/or scheduled.
