Job summary

UST is seeking a Pre-Silicon Validation Engineer (Associate II) to test client platforms and validate BIOS/FW components using emulation tools like Simics. You will triage issues, own bugs, and collaborate with clients to enable platform and OS features across multiple projects.

Role located in Oregon with a focus on pre-silicon validation and hardware architecture expertise. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering required, 2–4 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of platform debug experience with BIOS/FW/platform ingredients.
• Pre-Si validation environment experience.
• Platform/OS troubleshooting and triage experience.
• Nice to Have: Python, PowerShell, or C# for test automation.

Responsibilities

• Execute Pre-Si Validation using emulation tools like Simics.
• Test computer platforms and sub-systems.
• Triage and debug issues, filing bugs accurately.
• Take ownership of bugs and follow them through to closure.
• Enable new features on Platform and OS.
• Collaborate with clients on platform validation.
• Adapt to changing requirements and move between projects.
• Create and manage test content and test cases.
• Support ongoing platform validation and quality assurance.
