Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking a Positive Support Specialist for our Austin, MN location. The role offers part-time or full-time schedules with a target of on-site work and a pay rate of $19 per hour plus a $2,000 hiring bonus.

Responsibilities include assisting individuals with intensive care needs, promoting independence, documenting shifts, and safely managing crises with training in behavioral supports. Benefits and a supportive ALIVE workplace are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; related field degree preferred.
• 1-2 years working with people with complex needs; 3-5 years preferred.
• Must pass Bureau of Criminal Affairs background check and have a valid driverrs license.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals to be more independent in daily life activities like meal prep and personal hygiene.
• Advocate for clients rights and medical care in the community.
• Complete shift documentation and records.
• Manage crises safely with training in Positive Behavioral Supports and restraints as required.
• Engage in trauma‑informed care daily.
