Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is hiring a Positive Support Specialist (PSS) in Mankato, MN. This full-time, on-site role supports individuals with intensive needs in ICRS programs, focusing on independence and community participation.

The position requires strong interpersonal skills, physical stamina, and a high school diploma, with a preference for 3–5 years of relevant experience. A $2,000 signing bonus is offered plus comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma minimum; degree in a relevant field preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience with complex needs; 3-5 years preferred.
• Must be physically able to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs; valid driver’s license; BCA background check.

Responsibilities

• Help individuals perform essential life skills such as meal preparation and personal hygiene.
• Advocate for residents' rights, medical care, and community participation.
• Complete shift documentation and records.
• Manage crisis situations safely with training in Positive Behavioral Supports and restraints per 245D.
• Engage in trauma-informed care daily.
