Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is a dynamic social service organization serving children, youth and families, people with disabilities, older adults, and veterans. Positive Support Specialists work in Intensive Community Residential Services to support individuals with complex medical, behavioral, and mental health needs using a person-centered approach.

This on-site, part-time role requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and crisis-management readiness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required, preferred field experience in care settings.
• 1-2 years experience with complex needs; 3-5 years preferred.
• Must be physically able to stand, squat, bend or walk for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Background check (BCA) and valid driver’s license required; MVR may be needed.

Responsabilités

• Assist individuals to be more independent with daily living activities.
• Advocate for residents in rights, medical care, and community participation.
• Complete shift documentation and records.
• Manage crisis situations safely; training provided in POSITIVE BEHAVIORAL SUPPORTS.
• Engage in trauma-informed care daily.
