Job summary

The Salvation Army is looking for an Associate Planned Giving Director to grow their planned giving program in the West Virginia area. The role includes cultivating, soliciting, securing, documenting and stewarding planned gifts from donors and advisors, with home-office flexibility and regional travel.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in fundraising, especially in planned giving or major gifts, strong relationship-building and communication skills, and a bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Three years’ fundraising experience with planned giving or major gifts.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Proven ability to build strong donor relationships.
• Self-starter with ability to work from a home office.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate, solicit, secure, document and steward planned gifts.
• Travel region WV/Cumberland, MD; interact with donors and pros.
• Educate advisory boards; present planned giving strategies.
• Attend conferences and stay updated on tax laws relating to planned giving.
