Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services in Lawndale, CA is seeking a PRN Physical Therapist to provide direct patient care and support activities within the therapy department.

You will perform evaluations, develop treatment plans, and supervise staff while ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements. Experience in geriatric rehabilitation and interdisciplinary collaboration is preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in Physical Therapy evaluation and treatments.
• Ability to supervise and direct assistants and aides.
• Understanding of the principles of physical modalities employed in Physical Therapy.
• Knowledge of use of prosthetic and orthotic devices ambulatory aides and training.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work with all types and levels of patients.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performing accurate, comprehensive patient evaluations.
• Developing effective plan of treatment and obtaining appropriate approvals from referring physician.
• Supervising Physical Therapy Assistants/other Physical Therapists and/or Aides in direct patient care and patient-related activities.
• Communicating with supervisor and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress, problems, and treatment plans.
• Instructing patient’s families and/or nursing staff in specified follow-through programs.
• Interviewing patients and families regarding previous level of functioning and expectations for recovery.
• Demonstrating knowledge of resources for problem-solving and clinical best practice.
