Job summary

LifeWorks in Austin, TX is seeking a Full Time Peer Support Specialist for the Drop-In Center. You will provide client-centered peer support, lead groups, and help clients build recovery networks on-site at our South Site in Austin.

Qualifications

• GED or HS Diploma and 2 years of peer support experience.
• State certification as Certified Peer Support Specialist (PSS).
• Lived experience with trauma and substance use or mental health challenges.

Responsibilities

• Provide client-centered, healing-centered peer support to diverse individuals.
• Promote recovery, resiliency, and accountability for long-term recovery.
• Meet with clients to establish safe relationships and coordinate services.
• Facilitate regular peer support groups and social activities on site or in the community.
• Outreach to engage individuals unfamiliar with LifeWorks services.
• Develop and deliver recovery-related presentations and outreach.
