Job summary

LifeWorks Austin is hiring a Full Time Peer Support Specialist for our Drop-In Center. You will provide client-centered peer support, facilitate recovery-focused activities, and help connect clients to community resources.

This role emphasizes trauma-informed care and a strength-based approach in a non-exempt, on-site setting. Responsibilities include group facilitation, outreach, documentation, and collaboration with staff.

Qualifications

• GED or HS Diploma required and 2 years of peer support experience.
• State certification as Certified Peer Support Specialist (PSS) required.
• Lived experience with trauma and with substance use or mental health challenges.

Responsibilities

• Provide client-centered, healing-centered peer support to diverse individuals.
• Promote recovery, resiliency, and accountability for long-term recovery.
• Meet with clients to build safe relationships and coordinate services.
