Job summary

Detroit Recovery Project seeks an Outreach Peer Support Specialist to provide community outreach, harm reduction education, health education, and linkage to supportive services across Detroit. The role includes rapid HIV/HCV testing, distribution of supplies, and engagement through DRP's mobile unit, with a focus on meeting participants where they are and maintaining compassionate support.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of SUD/HIV-related experience, strong communication

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work with diverse populations.
• Knowledge of Detroit-area housing, medical care, and support services.

Responsibilities

• Engage communities to increase enrollment and access to services.
• Provide harm reduction education and connect participants to resources.
• Document services in a structured format using iPad/tablet; track progress toward goals.
