Job summary

Matrix Human Services in Detroit seeks a Rapid Early Intervention Specialist to engage PLWH and those unaware of their status through outreach in neighborhoods and venues, providing confidential HIV testing and risk-reduction counseling.

You will collaborate with the Ryan White interdisciplinary team, deliver health education, and support linkage to care while maintaining HIPAA-compliant documentation and client-centered services.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; some college preferred.
• 3+ years HIV prevention or care services or related human services experience.
• Phlebotomist certification preferred; EIS certification required within 12 months.
• Comfortable in a culturally diverse environment; strong communication and confidentiality.
• Proficient in Outlook and client database software; able to learn new systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide HIV health education, risk-reduction counseling, and care navigation.
• Conduct outreach to recruit clients and engage those undiagnosed or out of care.
• Link clients to HIV medical care and supportive services; coordinate referrals.
• Maintain accurate documentation; participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Operate mobile outreach activities following safety and HIPAA guidelines.
