Job summary

The Hospital of Central Connecticut is seeking an OR Nurse to function as Circulator/Scrub in the Operating Room. You will organize and deliver individualized nursing care, following hospital policies and AORN, ASPAN and SGNA standards.

This role emphasizes patient teaching, age/cultural considerations, and participation in quality improvement activities within a diverse patient population. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid CT RN License.
• BSN preferred.
• BLS Certification required, ACLS to be obtained within 6 months if candidate does not already possess certification.
• 1 year of acute care, two years surgical experience preferred.
• Must be able to communicate effectively, and work closely with all physicians and staff.
• Strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Functions as Circulator/Scrub Nurse in the Operating Room.
• Organizes and administers individualized, professional patient care in the OR.
• Provides nursing care in alignment with hospital and standards.
• Participates in patient teaching and quality improvement activities.
